Syncing to Ipod

iPod und iTunes are glued together closely. Unlike normal MP3-Players, the iPod does not open the media library as a mass storage; you can access it only with the software which was prepared for it.

If you want to develop your own iPod manager, you may try the following software:

• libipod libipod is a lightweight library written in C for the management of the Apple iPod. It includes wrappers for C++ and Python, as well as a number of example programs.
• gnupod GNUpod is a collection of Perl-Scripts which allow you to use your iPod under GNU/Linux and many other Operating Systems with a useable Version of Perl 5 (+Modules).
